The best wedding day timeline is one that ensures you get all the photos you want from the most important day of your life! Here are 3 tips to help you get the most out of your day with a stellar timeline.
2. Always leave wiggle room! Leave extra time for traveling between locations and for getting ready. Pro tip-have your makeup and hair stylist finish your look first then do the bridesmaids. Most weddings get behind because of the getting ready phase!
3. Hiring a wedding planner will save you so much time and stress! They plan tons of weddings whereas this is your first time; let them take care of you and make sure everything is how you want it to be. Day-of-Coordinators really help to keep things on schedule as well.
Here is the time I ask for as a photographer-
30 minutes for details-The venue, your bouquet, shoes, dress, etc
30 minutes of bridal prep-Final shots of your makeup and hair being done then putting on dress
15 minutes Bridals
15 minutes of groom prep-Like putting on shoes and tie
30-60 minutes-First Look
30 minutes-Bridal Party Portraits
30 minutes-Family Portraits
Then the rest I capture candidly as it happens during the ceremony and reception. Ceremonies usually are 20-30 minutes, sometimes longer if you have your own unique additions like singing to each other or a unity ceremony. Receptions that serve meal or dessert, have bouquet/garter toss, and toasts are usually 2-3 hours, or 4-5 hours with dancing.
