Wedding Details to bring for Your Photographer
The pieces that tie your whole day together, like your rings and invitations. Your bouquets and boutinners. All the little things that make your wedding day special!
You will need all of these things on your wedding day anyways, why not keep them all in a bag for your photographer! I am not going to lie, it took me awhile to love the details. (Posing couples and capturing candids are my jam) It took me a bit to learn how to style and photograph them so they showcased the bride and groom’s love story. I have come to love details because it gives me a chance to warm up before all the action happens, a chance to be creative, and the opportunity to create beautiful photos that I know my couple’s will love.
The details that are important to you are important to me. I especially love hand-made details that are unique to the couple and really mean something to them. The detail photos are beautiful additions to your wedding album so you can relive your wedding day in 10, 20, 50 years. Here are some ideas of what to include in your wedding details bag for me to photograph:
+Wedding Rings (engagement ring, bride’s wedding band, groom’s wedding band)
+Nice hangers for your dress and bridesmaids dresses
+Extra florals for styling (leaves, petals, flowers)
+Extra Ribbon (from the bouquet if there is leftover)
+2 sets of invitations/stationary (to be able to photograph the front and back at the same time)
+Anything else special to you, like name pieces, cute little desserts, something borrowed, special stamps, lockets, wedding favors, gifts you are giving to each other, etc
Coordinate with the florist so that the flowers can arrive just before I get there because I will be photographing the details first. Ask if they have any leftover florals and ribbons from making the bouquet so I can use that for styling.
Ask the groom to have his details together but those will be much quicker because it is usually just the bouts, tie, belt, and shoes. My second photographer usually handles that since most brides and grooms get ready in separate locations.
Whether you are getting married or a photographer, I hope this post was helpful 🙂 The details are so much fun to style! They will also increase the chances of your wedding getting published in a wedding magazine or blog. Plus it is nice to have everything organized in one bag so it is less stressful for you while so much is happening on the wedding day.
