How to prepare for your boudoir photo shoot! I will spill all my best tips and tricks in this post for ya 🙂
Boudoir photos are sexy, intimate, empowering portraits for women. They are also known as glamour shots, pinup photos, maybe even a hint of burlesque photos. They are typically done in lingerie or sexy dresses.
You will want to book your boudoir photo shoot at least 6 weeks in advance, that will give you plenty of time to find your perfect outfits. Shopping and trying on sexy stuff is half the fun!
I also recommend booking for the week after your menstrual cycle, you will have extra energy and look radiant! Nobody feels sexy when they are bloated bleh.
Boudoir for special occasions! You can book your boudoir session for your birthday! If you want to get photos to give as a Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Anniversary present you will need to have your shoot 6 weeks before the date. That way there is plenty of time to edit the photos, order and ship the prints/products.
You can wear whatever makes you feel sexy to your boudoir photo shoot! I highly recommend showing off what you love and hiding what you don’t. If you are self-conscious about your booty, don’t wear a thong. If you are self-conscious about your tummy, don’t wear a two piece. Don’t feel like you have to wear something, this shoot is for you!
My personal favorite are baby doll nighties and robes. I feel like they are feminine and flattering for every figure. They are also a great place to start so you don’t feel naked (ps I don’t do nude on that note ha). I also love push up bras and hipster panties.
Don’t forget the accessories! Necklaces (pearls, diamonds, dress it up), Bracelets, Earrings, rings, tiaras/crowns, gloves, flowers, high heels, boots, knee high socks, fish net stockings, etc.
Feel free to bring things that are special to you! A special locket from your partner? His favorite jersey or white button up shirt on you? Maybe a holiday themed outfit like sexy Mrs. Clause? All of those are super fun!
Do
Don’t
The nerves will start building up…but make sure you get lots of sleep the night before! Don’t get anxious! You are gonna feel beautiful and have a ton of fun!
Drink lots of water, that will give you a beautiful glow! Also try to avoid greasy foods.
Make a checklist for your boudoir outfits, don’t forget the little accessories!
Arrive about 15 minutes early for your hair and makeup. Have clean, dry hair and a clean face.
At the shoot, I will direct you so you don’t have to worry about a thing! Let me know your favorite songs so we can have some sexy music going 🙂
