“Hop in my mini van!” I cheered to this cute couple. I am glad people trust me because my mini van is actually really awesome! I planned for this engagement session to be extra special. I chauffeured Bri and Cody to the Salt Flats (about an hour and a half drive from Salt Lake City) while pointing out all the beautiful scenery and learning more about them along the way. I had one of my favorite movies playing on the mini van’s tv – The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I wanted this to be a date night to remember!

Once we arrived, all of us were in awe of this beautiful place! The Bonneville Salt Flats is one of my favorite places in Utah. It is like another world! The chunky salt glistened like glitter as the sun started to go down. The sunset had the most beautiful watercolor blues and pinks that day.

The salt flats were starting to dry up but there was still plenty of water for us to walk through and get some cool reflections with. I wanted to try some new creative things during these photos. We played around with sun flare and in the water. I just got a water protection bag for my camera that I was testing. I had them splash me a bunch. Be careful though, the salt is a really harsh exfoliant on bare skin. Tread lightly and slowly! But oh so worth it, I love these salt flat engagement photos!

Bri and Cody met at the University of Nebraska. When Cody moved to Utah, Bri knew she had to follow him. Both of them love the outdoors and beautiful mountains here. When deciding if they should get married back home or here in Utah, their new home; They decided they wanted to share this new landscape of their lives with their loved ones. They are getting married at the gorgeous Solitude Mountain Resort! What better way to share the mountains than by treating all your guests to the most spectacular views!

When Cody proposed, he sure led Bri along. They had gone on a beautiful hike in Park City together. When they stopped at a lake, she thought for sure this would be the moment. He kept trying to leave but she wanted to stay thinking he would propose there. That didn’t come until later though, at dinner. With the help of the wait staff he proposed on the balcony. Of course Bri said yes!

I had a blast with you both! Thank you so much for traveling out to the Salt Flats with me and getting a little messy! I got to try so many new things that were really fun. I wish you both the most happiness in your marriage 🙂
