Starry Sky Elopement Photos

What a way to end your elopement! Anna and Chad drove out onto the Bonneville Salt Flats, miles into the vast white, dry desert to cozy up next to each other and take in the magnificent sky that graced us that night. 

Night Sky Wedding Photos

Honestly this was my second time attempting star photos (aka astrophotography). There is so much that goes into getting being able to capture the stars. Clouds, the moon, distance from the city light pollution, position of the milky way. You cannot see all these stars with the naked eye so there is a lot of trial and error + apps to use to try and figure out where things are. We really lucked out that everything came together for us so we could create these magical couple’s photos with the milky way. 

Utah Salt Flats Elopement

We actually started taking photos just before sunset. Since it is Summer, the nights are short and it gets dark quick. Plus, it isn’t too cold! Summer is the best time to take night photos with the stars.

I love that Anna and Chad included their pup, Pacha! She was super sweet and so photogenic.

Pacha even helped pick the best elopement spot! HAHAHA.

We soaked in the sunset, played with Pacha, got out the tequila and watched as each star slowly appeared.
