Flooded Salt Flats Engagement Photos
Snow, snow, snow. I kept checking the weather for the Utah salt flats and the forecast all week was intermittent snow storms. We drove through the snow to get to the flats and luckily, just before the exit, the clouds lifted and the sun peeked through over the salt flats. Thank goodness, we hit the trifecta for the perfect conditions to get these amazing reflection photos: sun, clouds (not overcast), and calm water covering the salt flats!
Kayla and Chase are head over heels even after forming such strong bonds over the last eight years. He proposed in the most romantic city on Earth, Paris! They’ve traveled the world together and for each other. The sweetest, happy-go-lucky couple, always laughing and smiling. We had a blast!

The salt flats will always hold a special place in my heart! It’s a jaw-dropping landscape of nothingness which makes you feel quiet and small – in a good way. They are different every time I go there! If you want photos while they are flooded, it really depends on the weather. This is the most flooded I have ever seen them! Usually, it is only an inch or two and dries up quickly. Your best bet for water is to go in the winter December-April when there is a lot of precipitation. Keep in mind it is COLD! I’ve always been able to find puddles no matter the time of year, but there is something extra magical about walking across the flooded waters as they reflect the sky.
