Kylie and Max are the epitome of going with the flow. They are sweet and easygoing. What was most important to them was getting married and having beautiful photos to remember it with. The rest of the little details came second.
After their Fall 2020 New York wedding was canceled (#pandemic), they decided they wanted to elope. We pulled everything together in less than 3 weeks! It was beautiful and special, just perfect for them.
The Bonneville salt flats in Utah are a blank canvas to showcase the couple. The vast expanse of white salt is beautiful to look at and easy to walk around on. Kylie and Max chose this place for their elopement because they love enjoying the outdoors, but are not super “outdoorsy”. The salt flats are beautiful, secluded (it is public but easy to stay away from others), and accessible. This is what it looks like from above, out of this world!
Ozzy, their sweet dachshund, was super stoked for his humans to be getting married! I just love dogs and this boy was my new best friend.
The salt flats have been unusually dry this year. There was only a tiny puddle by the shore of the rest stop. We were worried about a winter storm coming in so we actually went to the salt flats a day before we originally planned.
Kylie and Max has a zoom call scheduled with their family for the original date. So we decided it would be safer to elope at the salt flats the day before then do the zoom call in Park City as planned. It’s almost a 2-hour drive and driving back in the dark on icy roads with snow through Parley’s canyon can be dangerous.
Their first look at the salt flats! Kylie had her hair and makeup done before they drove out. Then they changed at the flats in my changing tent. This is the sweetest reaction!
Can you believe this? This doesn’t even begin to show how vast the salt flats are, wild!
After their first look, we went back to grab the florals and get married! I’m an officiant and married them myself. The pressure haha it made me so happy to do it though. What an honour! We found a couple of people nearby to sign as witnesses.
I took Kylie and Max to a different location to say their vows and exchange rings so they could have more privacy.
I’m obsessed with Kylie’s BHLDN jumpsuit! In true elopement fashion, and how wedding dress shopping goes sometimes during a pandemic, she ordered a few BHLDN pieces and this one was THE one! Max even helped her pick it out. Then she returned the rest. It looks so cute with her white faux fur coat! Perfect because it was a little chilly! Max cleans up pretty nice too in his Bonobos suit.
Harvest Moon Events did an awesome job with the bouquet and boutonniere! She helped coordinate with Kylie and Max’s moms to make their wedding extra special!
Since the pandemic started, these two have been working remotely so they hit the road! What a fun adventure 🙂 a couple of weeks before their elopement they found these beautiful rings at an antique shop. How neat is that?! Before driving out to Utah they were exploring Texas and Colorado.
After the salt flats, I took them to Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City. I thought it would be a fun way to end the night since these two came from a big city originally. You can see all of Salt Lake City lit up from here. It is so beautiful! I made them some hot cocoa and we enjoyed the view. Someone was about to propose there and they let us use their setup.
The next day we met at their Airbnb in Park City. I love how involved their family and friends were to make it extra special. Their moms arranged little boxes to send out to all the zoom attendees so everyone could have a little champagne to toast with and other goodies. They also sent the flowers and cake to Kylie and Max.
We ended the night with some fun photos in the snow blizzard!
Thank you so much for working with me Kylie and Max! I had a blast with you two and I’m so happy for you!!! I wish you all the joy and happiness in your married. Can’t wait to see all your future adventures!
I’m so impressed with how everything came together in such a short amount of time. Thank you to all the amazing vendors for making Kylie and Max’s elopement so special!
