Sweat was dripping down our faces as we packed the last items into our car from our Arizona apartment in the 115 degree heat. With our 2 kids and golden retriever piled in, we took off with our air conditioning on full blast. We planned (by “we” I mean “me” haha) our move to Utah around this styled shoot in Sedona. I didn’t want to do the road trip on my own and thought we would have a lot of fun together! As we got closer, I pointed out all the beautiful red rocks and landmarks. Then began the pitter patter of rain on our windshield. Oh no, I thought, our poor creative team would have to move all the decor inside and who knows how long the storm would last. We arrived at the beautiful Elysian Escape, a new intimate wedding venue in Sedona, and were greeted with heavy rain and wind with deep puddles of red mud on the ground. It was a hassle to dig for all my camera gear in our packed trunk; I was so afraid of our belongings avalanching into the wet red dirt that covered the ground. I made it out okay and changed my mud covered shoes once I was inside. Elysian escape was so beautiful with a grand staircase leading down to a giant windowed living room that overlooked a beautiful canyon.
Luckily, the rain went away pretty quickly! I unpacked my gear as the team put their beautiful decor back outside. I was so excited to work with so many other amazing creative business owners; Especially Bloom and Blueprint because I am just head over heels about all of their hand-made, unique floral arrangements. If you are a flower child or butterfly lover, this shoot is for you! I loved the boho, 70s vibe of a carefree, barefoot bride that still has such a chic wedding.
